Ronaldo - Knee Injury

A knee operation undertaken on AC Milan and Brazil striker Ronaldo went well on Thursday, according to his medical specialist in Paris. The three-time FIFA World Player of the Year, who ruptured a ligament in his left knee on Wednesday, was treated at the Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in the French capital. Knee specialist Gerard Saillant, who oversaw the operation and performed surgery on Ronaldo's right knee eight years ago, told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "The operation lasted around two hours and took place without any particular problems. "It was the same injury as the previous time and for this reason the operation was of the same type," the surgeon added. "Now Ronaldo will have to go through nine months of rehabilitation." Asked if the Brazilian would play again, Saillant replied: "It will depend on him." The 31-year-old was carried off in tears after going down heavily during Wednesday's 1-1 Serie A draw at home to Livorno. Ronaldo, who has hardly featured this season because of a series of injuries, had only come on as a substitute three minutes earlier. The Brazilian sustained two serious injuries to his right knee while playing for Inter Milan in 1999 and 2000 but recovered to help Brazil win the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan. He then went on to play for Real Madrid before joining AC Milan in January 2007. Very sad "We're all very sad and worried about Ronaldo," said Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti. "I don't want to say his career is over because only time can put the word end to his career. His team mates left the stadium quickly to reach the hospital to check on his condition. Being close to him can help him cope at such a delicate moment of his career." Milan president Silvio Berlusconi said he believed Ronaldo would be able to resume his career. "He still has an extraordinary physique. I'm confident in some months time he can return to be the player we all know," the president said. Ronaldo is the all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup finals with 15 goals in three tournaments.-fifa.com

Hangreaves - Believes in capello

He's the man touted by some as the next England captain and Owen Hargreaves certainly possesses several of the qualities needed to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. Always committed, intelligent and a dynamic presence in the centre of midfield, the Manchester United man was a surprise omission from Fabio Capello's first starting line-up from England's 2-1 victory over Switzerland at Wembley last Wednesday evening.
The 27-year-old had to be content with just under 20 minutes as a substitute, but showed some nice touches during his cameo appearance. Following the match, FIFA.com caught up with the former Bayern Munich star, who was quick to praise his new Italian manager and outline his belief that England will be one of the 32 teams present at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa. - Fifa.com

Al Hilal Beat Red Devils

Manchester United youngster Danny Welbeck sent a last minute penalty a 3-2 victory over the Premier League champions in Sami al-Jabar's testimonial match on monday.
Bader al-Khoraesh's overhead kick 17 minutes from time was enough to win the game for the Saudi team againts a full-strenght United outfit.

The purpose of the game, however was to mark the retirement of Al0Hilal's legendary Saudi International Sami Al-Jaber.

United had been paid for 1 million pound to provide the opposition for Al-Jaber's testimonial game, but Al-Hilal proved from the kick-off that they had no intention of making life easy for their illustrious visitors.

Congra to Al-Hilal give a quality game & for MU fan what are you comment? It does't matter right? we concern to our league & of course to win again Champion League, good luck.
